New Signings: Beggars Music

Shining a light on some of their new musical talent

By Molly & the team at Beggars Music 24-Jan-2018
Welcome to this brand new feature where we spotlight the new and exciting signings by one of our Industry members. We spoke to the A&R team at Beggars Music, the home of Sampha, Glass Animals, Nicolas Jaar and Mica Levi about their new signings to the publishing arm of Beggars Group.

Snail Mail
The latest signing to Beggars Music is 18 year old Brooklyn-via-Baltimore singer-songwriter/guitar prodigy Lindsey Jordan aka Snail Mail. Snail Mail is set to release a full-length album on Matador Records later this year. Check out her ‘Habit EP’ below.

We’re very excited to start working with Oscar Powell! He has asserted himself as one of the most distinctive artists operating in electronic music today - his music is absolutely its own thing – mad, unpredictable, provocative but always carried by its own infection sense of groove. Powell released New Beta Vol.1 & 2 in 2017 with New Beta Vol.3 coming in 2018.

This Is The Kit
TITK is the alias of Paris based British songwriter and musician Kate Stables. We are very proud to publish TITKs most recent offering, the critically acclaimed ‘Moonshine Freeze’, their 4th LP and debut on new label home Rough Trade. The lead single of the same name was the most played track on BBC 6 Music in 2017.  Kate & The band are about to set out on an extensive UK tour headlining Shepherds Bush Empire for the London leg on Jan 25th. Find This Is The Kit in all the usual musical destinations or on their website

The Weather Station
We are thrilled to be working with The Weather Station - the project of Toronto based singer-songwriter Tamara Lindeman. TWS’ most recent LP has earnt enormous critical acclaim as well as a host of 2017 end of year list features.  Listen to The Weather Station’s beautiful track You and I (On The Other Side Of The World) here. They play London’s Oslo next week (30th Jan).
