Super Sync Pool Challenge

After a successful first year, the Super Sync Pool Challenge was back again and it was amazing to see the number of people attending double in size!

By The GMS Team 27-Sep-2018

It was the first event we put on for our members after we’d officially launched in April 2017 and so it’s no surprise that the Super Sync Pool Challenge drummed up a lot of excitement and anticipation which we’re pleased to say the night did not disappoint.

The Concord Conquerors were back in a bid to retain their winning title and we introduced a brand new singles tournament, what could possibly go wrong?

As the room filled it was humbling to see that the number of people attending had doubled in size since the first year and we really are building a community of people working together in the music supervision and sync licensing areas of the industry. It was also great to see friends join us from across the pond for the night too.

The night kicked off and the pool was underway, from the moment I saw the rest of the contestants' faces as Steve Phillips, Concord Music and Jon Skinner, Music Gateway started getting their cues out of their cases it was apparent that we had a mixed bag of attendees. Steve however, did insist that he hadn’t played since the last pool night.

So it comes as no surprise that the Concord Conquerors did indeed retain their title whilst Jon won the first ever singles tournament in a tough battle against Sam Stockholm. A huge congratulations to them and thank you to everyone who turned up. It truly is humbling to see what we’re building together and we look forward to the next evening we can get together.
