As Junior Creative Search & Licensing Exec, you will be helping source music from our catalogue for some of the UK’s leading television and content creation companies.
Day-to-day, this might include touching base with our clients on email, responding to incoming music briefs and learning about the world of production music publishing for media with the Boost team.
You’ll get to learn from a very experienced team that has worked at a variety of independent and major music publishers.
Being new to the industry we will guide you and give you the support you need to succeed.
Working for a smaller publisher, you will get exposure to all different areas of the business, gaining experience with one of the largest MCPS production music libraries.
We’re looking for someone who…
Has some experience in music or video: you don’t have to have industry experience, though we would love to hear about any creative projects you’ve worked on, or any background experience which you think has helped develop qualities which make you perfect for this role.
A degree in a related field is preferable, though please don’t let this discourage you from applying if you have strong written communication skills and relevant experience. We embrace applicants from all different backgrounds.
Loves music: this probably comes as no surprise, but you’ll be listening to a lot of music in this role. You’ll use a love for and in-depth knowledge of music to find your way around our catalogue to sensitively react to what a client is asking for.
Is creative: you will be helping video creatives and representing our music creatives, so it is important you have an active interest in the arts and media space.
Is ambitious: You will want to work hard and be rewarded on a career progression plan tailored to your growth and development.
Is commercially minded: This is a hybrid business development and creative role, so you will be keen to hit monthly targets, and prioritise your time towards opportunities that provide the best financial returns. You will receive industry training and a supportive working environment to help you achieve this.
Is an ideas’ person: you will have music ideas for searches, promotions ideas to contribute to our marketing plans, and be someone who generally wants to voice creative ideas and solutions.
Wants to develop a strong understanding of music licensing: You’ll have an appetite for understanding the business side of music publishing. As your career at Boost progresses, you will learn how to help clients with their music licensing enquiries, and eventually deal with requests yourself.
Is great with people: a big part of this role is the development and nurturing of Boost’s clients across the UK and Ireland. Whether you’re responding to an email music brief or out visiting clients in person you’ll need to feed off them, and have a genuine interest in understanding their music needs.
Is confident with technology: though you will be creatively minded, you will also have good organisational skills and be comfortable at learning how to use new technology. We will teach you how to work with our internal CRM (Customer Relationship Management Program) and various other software tools.
Is detail orientated: You will have excellent written communication and will be meticulous with the administrative tasks that come with the role.
Is a team player: you will be comfortable working as part of a team and happy to take direction from other senior members of the Boost promotions team.
Is happy to travel: once you are up to speed with the role, you’ll be going on regional client visits around the UK. Initially, you will travel with a senior member of the Boost promotions team, and in time take meetings and visits on your own. The promotions team are expected to travel up to 6 times a year for 1 to 3 nights on average.
The general responsibilities of the role are…
· Gain a deep level of knowledge of our catalogue
· Assist the Boost promotions team and eventually handle own music searches
· Email and call potential clients to generate new business
· Deliver excellent levels of customer service to clients including quick and friendly responses
· Assist promotions meetings and eventually demo website to clients leading own meetings
· Represent Boost at promotions trips and networking events (this will include some evenings and overnight stays)
· Shadow Boost team with client licensing enquiries and eventually handle them alone
· Help organising client events
· Help the team organise sending out promotional items
· Follow up leads from various sources as requested
· Update CRM database after client contacting, and help the team with CRM organisation projects

Salary: £22-25K dependent on experience with additional results driven bonus scheme, and a generous career progression plan
Hybrid role: split between working from home and in our London co-working space.
25 Days Annual Leave rising to 30 days after 2 years
