ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Head of A&R to lead our creative strategy and steer the future of our roster. You will be responsible for discovering and introducing new talent and furthering the careers of our artists and songwriters.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the A&R function across the company, managing both roster development and the  wider creative team. 

• Identify artists and songwriters for signing. 

• Build meaningful, long-term relationships with talent, offering hands-on creative  guidance and career support. 

• Facilitate songwriting collaborations in the UK and internationally. 

• Work closely with songwriters and their teams to support releases, song placements and  sync opportunities. 

• Develop strategic relationships with managers, labels, and other industry partners.

• Formulate deal proposals alongside business affairs. 

• Manage and mentor one direct report. 

• Engage internally with sync, copyright and admin teams to ensure seamless support for  our writers. 

• Be an ambassador for the company. 

This is a pivotal role in shaping our creative identity. It would suit someone with a strong vision,  who understands the nuances of artist development, the intricacies of music publishing and the  value of long-standing relationships. This position description provides an overview of the major  responsibilities of this role. It is not a definitive list of duties and may be subject to change. 

DESIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• 7+ years of experience in A&R, music publishing or a similar role, with a proven track  record of finding and developing successful talent. 

• A refined ear for great songwriting across genres. 

• Experience working with catalogue as well as frontline signings. 

• Strong network across the UK and international music industry with publishers,  songwriters, artists, managers, lawyers, labels and producers. 

• Excellent leadership, communication and negotiation skills. 

• Deep knowledge of the UK publishing landscape.
