MUSIC SALES GROUP – HEAD OF CREATIVE, FILM & TRAILERS (UK)

Music Sales is an ambitious and prestigious family owned group of companies dating back to the early 19th century. It has a wholly owned catalogue of an aggregate of some 400,000 songs and compositions by some of the world’s leading songwriters and composers.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic sync professional who is looking to take the next step in their career.


TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Pitching and promoting Music Sales’ catalogues and composers across all media, but with specific attention on placement in films and trailers

- Building, developing and maintaining relationships with music supervisors, production companies, film studios, trailer houses, editors, directors and producers

- Proactively seeking new commercial opportunities for our catalogue and composers within films and trailers

- Advising composers with respect to commissioned film work, including negotiating deal terms, reviewing agreements and assisting with awards submissions

- Aiding composer career development and assessing potential new media composer signings

- Working with the wider team on promotional activities, including hosting showcases, preparing client gifts, maintaining the departmental website and creating social media output

- Attending showcases, gigs, conferences and industry events, often with clients


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

- Proven success in generating new business for a music publisher or record label sync department

- Established network of contacts across the sync industry, especially film and trailer clients

- Experienced in liaising with writers, artists and their management on both a creative and business level

- A good understanding of music copyright and publishing with specific relevance to sync


REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALITIES:

- Ability to work under pressure

- Excellent communication skills

- Strong team player

- Proactive and enthusiastic

- Proficiency in computer software applications including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, iTunes and website CMS

- Prior experience of Counterpoint and / or Synchtank would be beneficial


GENERAL INFORMATION:

- Core working hours are 0930 to 1730 Monday to Friday, however this role requires flexibility and the ability to work additional hours as required

- The role is London-based but with national and international travel opportunities as required
