The MPA Group represents the full range of the UK’s music publishing sector and is made of three companies, the not-for-profit trade association, the Music Publishers Association (MPA), and two commercial businesses Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society (MCPS) and Printed Music Licensing Ltd (PMLL).

The MPA acts on behalf of over 200 members ranging from the UK’s largest and most established music publishers to independents and start-ups. It is a community for UK music publishers and provides a collective voice, as well as providing training, education, representation and a host of other business services to ensure its members thrive in a fast-paced commercial environment.

MCPS is the UK collection society that licenses mechanical (or reproduction) rights on behalf of over 26,000 music publisher and composer members, with an annual turnover in the region of £150m a year.  With over 120 music publisher members PMLL licences photocopying rights on behalf of music publishers to allow schools and other licensees to make copies of printed music.

Collectively, the MPA Group aims to safeguard and champion the interests of its members, to facilitate licensing and to deliver value back to its members for the benefit of the composers and writers they represent.
